Hands are not for Hurting Project
Hands are not for hurting...
they are for...
Amber and Adam are 11 year old twin child sexual abuse victims. They were abused at the hands of a
neighbor, who gained the trust of the family. The children are in therapy at the Center. They have
been heard and believed.
The "Hands are not for Hurting" project produces artwork with a child's hand prints who has been
seen at the Center. The child provides input on how to finish the quote, "Hands are not for
hurting...they are for...". Each child and parent understands that the project is a fundraiser that
allows us to build awareness and continue to provide direct services to other child survivors of
abuse, just like they have received from the Center.
Brian is a 6 year old sexual abuse victim. He was sexually assaulted at the hands of his 14 year old

violence of their mother at the hands of their father. The children received trauma
assessments at the Center which found that they both suffered from PTSD and are now being
seen by a therapist at the Center. They have been heard and believed.
Dominic is a 3 year old little boy who was sexually abused at the hands of his father. He is
