Facilitator Led Girls Circle

The Girls Circle seeks to promote girls’ resiliency and connection by equipping group facilitators with skills and resources to hold Girls Circles in their communities.

The Four Corners Child Advocacy Center has expanded its program to include the facilitation of Girls Circles within the Montezuma County Junior High and High Schools. Girls Circles are structured support groups for girls from 9-18 years, designed to increase positive connection, personal and collective strengths, and competence in girls. It aims to counteract social and interpersonal forces that impede girls’ growth and development by promoting an emotionally safe setting and structure within which girls can develop caring relationships and use authentic voices.

The purpose of Girls Circle is to encourage the development of strength, courage, confidence, honesty, and communication skills for girls. Our goal is to enhance girls’ abilities so they are able to take full advantage of their talents, academic interests, career pursuits, and potential for healthy relationships. The self-expression of the girls’ who participate within the safe caring environment encourages self-confidence, authenticity in relationships, and enhanced judgment skills.

The program is provided free to participants and will be on-going. New sessions will be coordinated with the schools. Next school year we will be offering a similar curriculum for boys, ages 9-14.

Please contact Rose at 565-8155 if you would like to schedule your own Girls Circle within your organization.
