Mandated Reporter Training was developed for individuals defined as Mandated Reporters under the Colorado Revised Statute § 19-3-304. This includes, but is not limited to, persons in the medical field, school officials and employees, social workers, therapists, Law Enforcement, victim’s advocates, church clergy, probation officers, even animal protection and commercial film processors. The content of the training includes information about the prevalence of child abuse, consequences of abuse, types of abuse, the law around mandatory reporting of abuse, how to respond when a child disclose abuse, and what to expect when making a report.
Keeping in mind that individuals, not organizations, are Mandated Reporters. The profession we choose might make us responsible for the well-being of children. It’s important to understand the law and your responsibility.
