Mandatory Reporter Training

Child Maltreatment is a complex problem, and its solutions are many. At Four Corners Child Advocacy Center, we have a vision for a community in which every child is loved, protected, nurtured, and free to grow up healthy. As professionals who serve children, we dedicate ourselves to their well-being and development. Protecting children from harm is our first priority.

This is a 2 1/2 community-wide training is at the Advocacy Center.

In this training you will learn:
The types of maltreatment of children and their definitions.
Indicators (signs) of maltreatment in children, and in adults who may be abusing.
Why reporting is a service to children and families.
Who are mandated reporters.
Why professionals hesitate or fail to report abuse and neglect, and how to overcome barriers.
Mandated reporter responsibilities and protections.
Penalties for failure to report.
How to respond to children who disclose or exhibit indicators of abuse or neglect.
